TO REACH NEW STUDENTS.

OBJECTIVES OF THE ASSOCIATION
With the Exterior Relations committee
Contact with Senegalese Embassy in a monthly basis.
-Contact with all Senegalese Associations willing to work with us and especially in Austin, San Antonio, and Dallas/ Fort Worth areas if the Associations exist.
- Contact with African organizations in Houston and participate in all activities.
-Contact with local authorities like City of Houston and Harris County.
- Contact with Non-profit Organizations to benefit of all events or Donation for senegalese
- Contact with any Senegalese individual or group coming to Houston for better information about the city. For example Youssou Ndour, Thione Seck, etc..
-Contact with Greater Houston Partnership Bureau and COH Chamber of Commerce for minorities for any type of business development
With the Educational & professional Committee
- Go toward the new students and develop a net working with students advisors
- Create a bookfair, "underground bookstore", at the beginning of each semester so that students can buy, sell, or exchange books.
- Set up a network for student counseling, job networking, grant writing, and scholarship search.
- Help student with advices on resume writing & career development
- Write a book about the Senegalese history and culture, and a rotary club grant proposal.
- Educate students about community services.
- Ameliorate the living conditions of the female Senegalese in the hairdressing salons.
- Provide student with an efficient and helpful mentoring system
With the Social Cultural & Sports Committee
- Organize community get-togethers via picnics, excursions, parties, functions, "Thè-Dèbats", and sportive games.
- Promote and encourage sportive practice games.
- Promote the Senegalese culture via expositions or presentation of aspects of the Senegalese culture during functions.
- Organize the Celebration of the major Senegalese Holidays, especially our Independence Day, in particular, and other holidays in general, like New Year's Evening and major US holidays.
- Help, Senegalese in trouble, overcome their difficulties.
With the Rapid Response Team
- Conduct investigation to find out about all the facts for a given even, matter, or crisis
- Provide immediate recommendations to respond quickly, and in an accurate and coordinated manner in order to bring solutions to urgent matters
With the Mentoring program
- Mentor students to help them achieve their academic goals and endeavors
- Facilitate the transition between school and the professional world

Only members paying their dues regularly (every month) can benefit of the SAH services. One is considered being a member if one subscribes to the goals of the S.A.H., applies for membership, and fulfills one's membership obligations, including but not limited to payment of monthly dues.
